A Seminar by Lilyana Yazirlıoğlu: “Reconnecting People, Places, and Objects through Collective Textile Making with Localized Textile Communities”
As a part of the ID561 Product Design for Sustainability course, Lilyana Yazirlıoğlu will give a seminar titled "Reconnecting People, Places, and Objects through Collective Textile Making with Localized Textile Communities." The seminar will take place on Thursday, 16 October 2025, at 13:45 in the Kubbealtı Hall of the Faculty of Architecture. Everyone interested is welcome to attend.
Lilyana Yazirlıoğlu is a PhD candidate at Belfast School of Art, Ulster University, UK. In 2024 and 2025, she was a visitor researcher at the Umeå Institute of Design, Sweden. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the Department of Industrial Design, Middle East Technical University, Türkiye. Between 2019 and 2022, she worked as a teaching assistant at the Department of Industrial Design, TED University, Türkiye, during which she was a research assistant in the TÜBİTAK project "Developing a Conceptual Model and Pedagogical Toolkit to Support Blended Design Education." Her research interests include design for sustainability, craft and design, and communities of practice.
