One of the founders of the METU Department of Industrial Design, our esteemed faculty member Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Asatekin, who passed away on January 18, 2026, was commemorated in an event held on April 17, 2026, at the METU Architecture Amphitheater. The event brought together our alumni, colleagues, and faculty members, where participants shared their thoughts and memories regarding Mehmet Asatekin's educational approach and his works. We remember Assoc. Prof. Asatekin with respect and affection, and once again extend our condolences to all who knew and loved him.
