She studied Industrial Design in Middle East Technical University and completed her masters degree as a Fulbright Scholar, in Interior Design at Pratt Institute of Technology, New York,1992. She started her professional life in New York, working at Naomi Leff and Associates Interior Design Co. working in prestigious accounts like Steven Spielberg's & Geoffry Katzenberg's residence projects, Armani AIX stores, Giorgio Armani in store boutiques, etc.

As a Co founder of Artful Interor Design Co. and Ece Yalım Design Studio, she has been practicing interior and product design since 1996 with her work and life partner Oğuz Yalım. With their own universal approach, they designed wide variety of products for leading companies such as Nurus, Ersa, Koleksiyon, Burotime, Kale Bathroom, Arlight, Heper+Moonlight, İkizler Lighting, Paşabahçe Mağazaları, etc., in Turkey, uplifting their design manifests. Their human oriented, visionary, innovative, contemporaray products have been rewarded with world wide known, influential design awards many times.

She has also been teaching design as part time instructor of studio team at METU Industrial Department over a decade. Recently she also joined studio team as a part time instructor at TED University Interior Design Department. Her specific course, Color Driven Design teaches application methodologies of color theory in both interior and product design processes.
