Naz A.G.Z. Börekçi, 1995 yılında Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi, Endüstri Ürünleri Tasarımı Bölümünden lisans derecesini, 1997 yılında Bilkent Üniversitesi, İç Mimarlık ve Çevre Tasarımı Bölümünden yüksek lisans derecesini, 2003 yılında Kent Institute of Art & Design, University of Kent at Canterbury'den doktora derecesini almıştır. 2003 yılından bu yana ODTÜ Endüstri Ürünleri Tasarımı Bölümünde öğretim elemanı olarak çalışmaktadır. 2004-2009 ve 2010-2011 yılları arasında bölüm başkan yardımcılığı görevini yürütümüştür. Lisans düzeyinde üçüncü ve dördüncü sınıf stüdyo derslerine girmekte ve malzeme dersini vermektedir. Lisansüstü düzeyde tasarım yöntemleri dersini vermekte, bunun yanı sıra yüksek lisans ve doktora tezlerinde danışmanlık yürütmektedir. Endüstriyel Tasarımcılar Meslek Kuruluşu derneği üyesi olup 2004-2006 yılları arasında yönetim kurulu başkanlığı görevini yürütmüştür. Ayrıca Design Research Society EdSIG (Eğitim Özel İlgi Grubu) üyesidir. Akademik ilgi alanları arasında tasarım yöntemleri, tasarım eğitiminde yaratıcılık, eğitimde üniversite-endüstri iş birliği ve herkes için tasarım konuları yer almaktadır.
