Congratulations to our fourth-year student Ezgi Semerci from the METU Department of Industrial Design and Bahadır Özten from Hacettepe University, Department of Environmental Engineering whose project was selected and presented in the annual exhibition of the "Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity" programme from November 19 to 21, 2024. Featured under the "environment" theme and supervised by Burcu Derer Omay, the Rosy Shield is a biodegradable capsule aiming to control wildfires with its innovative structural design features. The project was among the selected 100 projects out of more than 2700 applications, from more than 800 universities worldwide, and it was the only project chosen and exhibited from Turkey. As part of the event, Prof. Dr. Çağla Doğan participated in a series of workshops for professors' engagement and collaboration within the sustainability field. The programme is organized in partnership with the Dubai Future Foundation and Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, and supported by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
