Mission

The mission of METU Department of Industrial Design is to carry out design education, research and knowledge dissemination to international standards by taking a plurality of approaches involving the participation of civil society, organizations and companies; to graduate creative designers and design researchers capable of contributing to new or innovative product, service and system solutions that take into account individual, social, cultural, environmental, technical and economic considerations; to sustain its leading position in Turkey through program review and renewal processes linked to developments in higher education and wider stakeholder needs.

The vision of METU Department of Industrial Design is to develop and apply design approaches to achieve positive change for people, societies, organizations and companies, within the general frames of sustainability and economic development.
