Evren Akar: “The Advent of Usability and User Experience in the Turkish Private Sector: The UTRLAB Experience”
Evren Akar, UTRLAB Director of User Experience will be giving a seminar titled “The Advent of Usability and User Experience in the Turkish Private Sector: The UTRLAB Experience”, as part of the ID 480 Design Management course seminars. All interested are kindly invited to Yüksel Proje Amfisi A04 Hall on April 2nd, Tuesday at 10:30 AM. The seminar will be conducted in English. Akar met with the concept of usability as Çiğdem Erbuğ, an instructor at the time in METU Department of Industrial Design was establishing ÜTEST. He worked at the usability lab, WITLAB which was based in the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands between 2002 and 2006. He worked in a variety of projects in ÜTEST between 2006 and 2008. He was involved with the establishment of UTRLAB, the first private usability lab in Turkey in 2008, with Dr. Ali Berkman, in METU Technopolis under Nanobiz Technologies. He served as an academic consultant in UTRLAB between 2008-2012. He took the roles of User Experience Specialist and Vice-Director of User Experience in UTRLAB after 2012 in that order. Since 2018, he is working as the Director of User Experience.
