As part of the ID121 Introduction to Industrial Design course, designer Umut Kapaklıkaya will give a seminar titled "The Emerging Role of Young Designers in Today's Industry." The seminar will take place on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at 2:40 PM in the U-Auditorium, U1, METU. Everyone interested is welcome to attend.

Umut Kapaklıkaya is a multidisciplinary designer with experience in various fields, including blockchain technologies, digital product ecosystems, and 3D visualization. During his studies at METU's Department of Industrial Design, he worked on several cross-sector design projects and developed Blender-based rendering workflows along with service and experience design. His graduation project focused on creating a data-driven product–service system to improve trust and transparency in agriculture. After graduating, Umut joined Commencis as a UX Designer, where he now works on enhancing user experience through research, interaction design, and purposeful digital interfaces.
