Biography

Çağla Doğan is a professor of industrial design and a faculty member at Middle East Technical University. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the METU Department of Industrial Design, and her Ph.D. in product design for sustainability from the Faculty of Environmental Design, the University of Calgary in Canada. She worked as a faculty member and adjunct research professor at Carleton University in the School of Industrial Design. She is a project coordinator in the area of Design for Sustainability at the SustainDRL research group. She is involved in master’s and doctoral thesis supervision at METU in line with the research topics she focuses on, such as design education and generative design research methods for sustainability, published in national and international journals and conference proceedings. The research book she edited, “Sustainable Design Considerations for Household Appliances: Maintenance, Repair and Effective Use of Resources,” within the scope of the project completed by the SustainDRL research team, was published by METU Faculty of Architecture Publications.
