As a part of the ID561 Product Design for Sustainability course, Ayşe Kaplan Sarısaltık will give a seminar titled "A Systemic Design Approach to Sustainable Plastic Consumption". The seminar will take place on Thursday, 20 November 2025, at 13:45-14:30 in the Kubbealtı Hall of the Faculty of Architecture. Everyone interested is welcome to attend.

Ayşe Kaplan Sarısaltık is a PhD candidate in Product Design at Oslo Metropolitan University, Norway. Her research integrates systemic design and social practice theory to identify leverage points for sustainability interventions. Focusing on menstruation practices as a lens to explore sustainable plastic consumption, she also examines broader patterns of everyday plastic use. She holds a master's degree in Industrial Design from Middle East Technical University, Türkiye, where she also worked as a research assistant. Her research interests include systemic design, design for sustainability, product–service-system design, sustainable consumption, social practice theory, social innovation, and alternative food networks.
