Özet:

There are different "genres" in how design research understood and implemented at postgraduate level in different schools around the world. The aim of this session is to initially provide an overview of how design research is carried out at postgraduate level at School of Design, Auckland University of Technology where the presenter is working as a member of academic staff. This will be compared with the research tradition in Industrial Design Department of Middle East Technical University, where the presenter received her M.Sc. degree from. Then a discussion on strengths and weaknesses of different approaches will be facilitated by the presenter and active participation of staff and students is expected.
